I Believe Statements
I have been collecting my I believe statements that will guide me throughout my journey of becoming a teacher and while teaching. These statements are important values that I believe will create a healthy classroom.
I believe:
...language is a powerful tool.

...teachers possess the ability to change the future one day at a time.

...future teachers are being taught to change our education system to sufficiently benefit and include all racial groups, students with intellectual disabilities, behavioural challenges, and gendered children.

...to never favour children, it is ranking the children when all should be taught and viewed as equals.

...all classrooms should preach the land and right of Indigenous peoples.

...that in order to become a successful teacher is challenging myself to keep learning.

...it is time that people who identify with different sexualities and genders then heterosexual deserve to be respected, valued, accepted, supported, and defended, especially in the classroom.

...everyone should have equal rights despite their genders and sexualities.

...everyone should feel comfortable and content at school.

...no one is obligated to explain their gender/sexuality.

...our strength is our diversity.

...in being a strong role model that I would have liked to have growing up.
...early experiences impact who we become.

...in building relationships with your students.

...in executing an inclusive education curriculum in my classroom.

...in spreading awareness of truth in reconciliation in the classroom and outside the classroom.
